The Origin of CMVR in Buckinghamshire
In the beginning there was Turners…
Turner’s origins in hire cars and mini-buses meant there was a constant need to repair and service a wide range of vehicles. Classic Motor Vehicle Restoration originally started as a sideline for Roy Turner and his late father. For many years they ran a variety of prestige and classic cars which were hired out for weddings and other special events.
Today the hire business has been mothballed while Roy dedicates more and more time to his passion, namely that of restoring old classic cars to their former glory. Something of a Cresta devotee, Roy has restored a number of these distinctively styled vehicles. The design of which is very reminiscent of the iconic Cadillac “Park Avenue Concept” of the “Fifties”.
The small workshops are hard to find, which is a blessing as few but the most determined visitor finds their way to them. With low overheads and a very rural location, the cost of classic car restoration is within most people’s means.
