This MGC with full rally specification came in for some remedial repair work. That was just the beginning of the story and soon it became clear that extensive repairs would be necessary. much of which turned out to be a surprise for both the owner and myself.
What had started as a new front wing from a collision in Greece whilst rallying, soon grew as we exposed a number of other issues.
Initially, after closer inspection, a hole in the sill had been noticed and there were indications that previous work on the vehicle had not been of a very high quality.
Slowly, like peeling a bad onion, we removed rusted metal and exposed further issues. Before long it was clear that the restoration work was going to be much more substantial than originally thought.
Restoration would ultimately require six new panels to be fitted and several other “hand made” parts to be fashioned.
