Chassis and Floor Pans

If it is rotten, filled, patched or bodged, it needs to be removed and replaced, there are no shortcuts. Classic car restoration is all about turning back the clock and it takes time, patience and dedication to create something that will last.

There are plenty of places you can find that will do half a job, with hidden problems, but we are not one of them. We take great pride in our work and we want you to be proud to own something we have carefully restored.

Bodywork and Interior

The same level of care and detail is applied to the interior fittings and to the paintwork and “bright work”.

Painted surfaces are carefully rubbed down and minor blemishes are filled before applying a thick coat of primer, and successive coats of paint until a high level of finish is achieved.

Chromed parts are rendered free of rust, cleaned and re-chromed to restore their wow factor!

s

Engine and Mechanical Elements

Engines are stripped down, cleaned and repaired where necessary. Worn parts are replaced and where replacement parts are unavailable, customised parts are sought.

Often parts from different models or even different makes of vehicle are the closest one can get to the original. However, wherever possible authentic replacement parts are used.

Recently Restored Classics

Today’s cars have litle character, no soul, most look the same and are filled with so many electronics they are often more computer than transportation. Older cars had style, sometimes preposterous style, yet see one today and you cannot help turning your head. Modern cars win hands down for reliability, but if that was all there was to it we would all be happy to drive around in a Prius!

At Classic Motor Vehicle Restoration we take old, tired, often severely neglected wrecks and return them with a great deal of care and expertise into something very special. Often these vehicles were just very ordinary transport, for very ordinary families, yet fully restored they are able to take on a completely different role, as a window back into a previous less manic age.

Restoration projects frequently become half-completed and lay untouched for years at the back of a garage. Sometimes they are bought in a moment of madness and when the full depth of the task becomes known, their custodians realise that this requires a great deal of knowledge both engineering knowledge and that of knowing where to find or how to fabricate problem parts.

That’s where we come in, with decades of experience and a great deal of patience. Don’t take our word for it, just look at our gallery of rebuilds, for we believe they will speak much better than we can ourselves.
